Slender: The Eight Pages review

Posted : 11 years, 9 months ago on 17 July 2012 10:22 (A review of Slender: The Eight Pages)

If you know the tale then you're safe but if it's unknown to you, I recommend getting your heart ready for a fright.

This is one of those games that requires nothing much to be amazing, it just is amazing without special effect or astonishing soundtracks or spectacular game-play because if it draws you in it really is a fright. At first i didn't think much of it i knew the tale and what it was all about yet it still gave me a fright and made my heart race.

All in all it was amazing, simply amazing, well built, nicely done and astonishingly simple.

Alan Wake review

Posted : 12 years, 1 month ago on 29 March 2012 05:26 (A review of Alan Wake)

The game as a whole is good but the story and how it is developed needs a lot of work. In my case, i realized how the game would end from the second episode. Playing trough it it can actually scare someone but the game play side of it is too easy i haven't played on the nightmare difficulty yet and i don't intend to because the manuscript can work without it's missing pages...and about the manuscript itself it's too revealing and it makes the game even easier to play.

On the bright side it has an astonishing scenery, spooky and scary sound effects timed flawlessly into the event that is taking place and the graphics is designed in such a way that it becomes a great spook story when played in a pitch black room with the luminosity on low and the gamma settings even lower.

Another thing related to the game play that rubbed me wrong is the way it lets you evade attacks by sending you into slow-motion and showing the enemy so you can evade his assault...that is just counter productive.
